Biography

Xavier Encinas is a french Art Director living and working in Vancouver, BC. He specializes in print and typography where photography meets fashion, however, his interests are broad and he enjoys working within many spectrums.
After graduating in 2003 with a Master’s Degree in New Technologies, Xavier started his career in graphic Design, crafting websites for small companies, promoting art exhibitions and creating personal typography projects.
In 2005, Xavier was hired by Univers Poche, one of France’s biggest publishers of paperback books, as Head of the Internet Department, where he put his marketing knowledge and skill into action. After 6 pm, however, his work as a Graphic Designer continued…
Over the last six years Xavier has had the pleasure of working with modern artists, film directors, poster fanatics, fashion designers and photographers.
To share his passion for Typography and Design, Xavier launched his blog, Swisslegacy, in February 2007.
At the beginning of 2009, Xavier became the Art Director & Graphic Designer for Under The Influence, a fashion and photography magazine out of Paris.
Xavier’s work has been published in some of the most prestigious graphic design books and magazine around the world.

In 2008 Xavier’s “Grotesque” poster, inspired by swiss typography and the french language, was shown in the FO SHO Poster Show and at TypeCon 2008.
