Matter is a new biannual publication, from the team behind Kilimanjaro, that records the ways in which new and developing technology affects culture, lifestyle, fashion, and the arts.

Created by the studio behind the acclaimed arts and culture magazine Kilimanjaro, Matter shares the former’s curatorial approach to design and content. Designed to appeal to a consumer eager to tap into an ever-changing and increasingly sophisticated world, with particular regard to the twin disciplines of high-end design and culture, its inaugural issue is covered by the iconic trip-hop artist Tricky, who talks exclusively to Matter about music, imperfection, and reinvention.

Matter’s USP is the fact that it is the first art and style publication to examine these subjects through the lens of modern technology; in doing so, it brings together the creative and the rational in a way which is rarely seen in the realms of printed matter.

First issue includes:
Dieter Rams, Ole Scheeren, Matthew Collings, Pierre Huyghe & William Gibson.

Google’s Creative Director of Data Arts, Aaron Koblin, on digital art. Iconic fashion designer Rick Owens presents an Anthology Of Colour. Editor Jennifer Higgie on twenty years of Frieze magazine. Art & The Automobile, featuring the American artists Richard Prince and Erwin Wurm. Tate Exhibitions Curator Tanya Barson on the Lyon Biennale. Celebrated conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner, shot by NY underground photographer Ari Marcopolous. Photographer – and former director of Dior Homme – Hedi Slimane’s best images of women.

Matter magazine is 200 pages, and retails at £8.00

Art direction, fashion styling and visionary photography

The world of fashion has always been motivated by new ideas and changes. Parallel to its evolution are the images put up by visionary art directors and fashion photographers who ensured the beauty of life and visions of the future are explored.
With focuses on the artistry of art direction and fashion photography, MasterMind highlights the modern sensibility to beautiful ideals built around the world’s immediate environment, technicalities and basic body forms. Get to understand more about these visual artists in their most recent portfolios of fashion editorials, advertorials, portraiture, movie stills and personal works, introduced with a heart-to-heart dialogue with every one of them.

Through a collection of Hedi Slimane’s photographs of the 2000s, this book presents the journey of the iconic designer into fashion before, during, and after his tenures at Yves Saint-Laurent and Christian Dior. It is in this decade that critics acknowledge Slimane to have infused men’s fashion with an androgynous, rock ‘n’ roll verve that influenced couture all over the world.

In a 2003 conversation with “Interview’s” Ingrid Sischy, Slimane discussed his beginnings as a photographer: “I started taking pictures before I even began in fashion. I didn’t start with clothes until I was 16, but I had my first camera when I was 11. I’ve always taken pictures, almost like some people take notes or write down their thoughts.”

The four volumes reveal Slimane’s duotone photographs mixing the music scene, street fashion, and his haute couture shows, are as fresh as his paradigm-shifting work in fashion. They reveal his inspirations, his attention to both youth culture and classical references, and attest that his contribution to haute couture was maybe the constant refining of a line and silhouette that was to mark the culture of the noughties.

Limited box-set edition consisting of four volumes.
