Why do you think this is rubbish?

I like Saville’s work, but when I listen to him talk it always seems as though he only just about manages to put forward a credible argument.

I’m just never convinced that he is the real deal. Some of the work he has done looks pretty average as well. I think his best days were clearly when he had a free reign to do what he likes for his mates: Joy division and company.

But I still like him though.

Being inspired by the world around you? Am I naive to assume that most designers are indeed inspired and motivated by things outside of “graphic design”? Is it really necessary that we listen to Saville (who’s work I’ve admired for a long time) speak as if this is somehow profound? Or perhaps (since this clip is viewed out of context of the whole) he is equally perplexed that questions like “what inspires you?” are repeatedly asked. Anyway…Cheers!

No one has said so little with so much.
