Analyzing a list of things that have made him happy, graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister realized that almost half of the items were in some way related to design. In this intensely personal talk, he shares the details of some of those moments, and gives props to three artists whose work has had a positive impact on his world. Concluding with some examples of his own work, Sagmeister offers a real insight into his aesthetic and philosophy of work — and life.

This book is published following the exhibition “Wim Crouwel, Architectures typographical: 1956-1976â€? which took place at the Anatome gallery in Paris (February 10 to April 28, 2007). It’s the first book in French language dedicated to work of Wim Crouwel, figure major of the contemporary graphic design.
This book features three new texts of Wim Crouwel and curators of the exhibition, Catherine de Smet and Emmanuel Bérard. Largely illustrated, it shows the diversity of the work of Wim Crouwel: visual identities, edition, posters. The iconography concentrates particularly on page-setting of the catalogues realized for museums such Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam, like on the genesis and the presentation of New Alphabet, created between 1964 and 1967.
This book was designed by Experimental Jetset. The photographs of the catalogues are by Jerome Saint-Loubert Bié and the portraits of Wim Crouwel by Johannes Schwartz.
